I’m Jack, the creator of Jack Reads Books. I am a law student living in San Francisco, and when I am not actively wreaking havoc in the kitchen (pickleball and cooking at home), I consider myself a self-proclaimed bibliophile, with a particular love for historical nonfiction. Outside of reading, studying, and sports, I enjoy exploring the culinary scene here in the Bay Area—I often dine out and share reviews of my favorite restaurants. The impetus behind the creation of this website was my desire to write honest, subjective views of the books I read each month. While I enjoy reading reviews from New York Times and Wall Street Journal, I found myself unable to relate to what the PhDs were writing in their academic book reviews. Yes, I am aware that goodreads exists, but isn’t it more fun to have your own platform to express individual views and make 4.50% commission on books you purchase from the buy link I provide? Hopefully there is something on this website for everyone—enjoy!
